What is it?
Like OrderAway, TouchMini connects to an on-premises SwiftPOS installation via the SwiftPOS Cloud activated in the Back Office. This enables a secure, VPN-less, In-Venue initiated connection between TouchMini and the on-premises SwiftPOS installed system using the SwiftPOS API.
Why is it Needed?
SwiftPOS TouchMini offers Venues a seamless web-based platform for in-Venue ordering and order payment capabilities using a mix of device types. Simple to implement the TouchMini platform aims to elevate the patron experience and at the same time provide Venues with the convenience of offering queue busting ordering and payment capabilities.

Notes …
Other browsers such as Bing, Firefox, etc can potentially be used, however these are currently NOT SUPPORTED. Support for these is coming SOON.
How is it Used?
TouchMini can be implemented in a Venue by following the steps outlined in the GETTING STARTED topic.
Once implemented and configured TouchMini can be operated in a Venue.
What are the Limitations?
The following limitations currently apply to TouchMini:
- Only the Quick Service patron configuration option will be supported. Support for the Event Area and Tables/TABs configuration options will be coming soon.
- Web Redemption Ratio – If it is set to anything other than 0, then this is what will be returned to TouchMini. If it is set to 0, then the same Redemption Ratio as returned to Touch is returned to OrderAway.
- Points Accounts – Currently TouchMini is limited to only the 1st Points Account. Support for multiple Loyalty Point buckets is coming soon. Given this if a Venue wants to use ePurse points in TouchMini, it is recommended to do the following:
- Assign Media 529 to Points in Back Office.
- Ensure the Get Points Account option is NOT selected in the SwiftPOS Back Office Interface Settings tab in NetPOS. If it IS SELECTED, then SwiftPOS will always return this as the Points Account and NOT the 1st ePurse Points Account.
- Unlike OrderAway which loads Products and Pricing each time a Menu is accessed, TouchMini caches the Products and Pricing of each menu for the TouchMini UI. This may mean that cached data that is available to the TouchMini UI becomes invalid as a result of :
- Happy Hour Pricing
- Location Default Pricing changes.
- Scheduled Price Level changes.
- Product Pricing has changes.
- Menu Layout changes.
- Post Linking changes.
- Refer to Availability of Order/Sale Features Overview available in Touch, TouchMini, OrderAway, Kiosk and Web Store.
Notes …
Besides manually refreshing the TouchMini device’s cache, currently the cache is refreshed automatically at intervals of every 15 minutes. For example, At 10:00, 10:15, 10:30, 10:45, 11:00, 11:15, etc. Obviously, as a result of the 15 minute interval refresh, Products and Pricing differences may result, and may differ from those available via SwiftPOS Touch and OrderAway.
This completes the ABOUT for TouchMini.
