  • Host Venue - Generally refers to the Venue that has Venue Hub configured to ensure the hosting of multiple Orderaway instances (Vendors). Examples of a Host Venue would be a Club, Convention, Food Market, Music Festival, Stadium, etc. Once configured correctly patrons would then be able to access the Orderaway menus of the multiple Vendors via the Host Venue's single Venue Hub QR Code.
  • Vendor - Generally refers to a single Orderaway instance (Swiftpos Location) representing a hospitality outlet that offers patrons food and/or drink services. In this context, a Vendor's menu is accessed by scanning the Venue's Venue Hub QR Code and selecting a Vendor from the list of Vendors available. Refer HERE for more information.
  • Venue Hub - Generally refers to a single Swiftpos Location that functions as a Venue Hub, which offers patrons a single access point to all Vendors.

What Is It?

Venue Hub is primarily a Swiftpos Location configured as an Orderaway instance (Venue Hub) that enables the grouping of other multiple Orderaway instances (Vendors), so that they all can be accessed from the Venue Hub.

Venue Hub provides Venues and Event organisers the ability to offer patrons a single point of access from which they are able to place Orders with multiple Vendors using Orderaway. An ideal solution for large Venues such as Clubs, Conventions, Food Markets, Music Festivals, Stadiums, etc.

Essentially Venue Hub can be seen as a way of grouping Orderaway instances together, which can then all be accessed from a single instance (Venue Hub). For example, if a Venue has 3 existing Orderaway instances (food/drink outlets) already, a Coffee shop, a Bar and a Bistro, and they want to offer patrons one QR code so that they can scan and place an Order with any one of the food/drink outlets, creating a Venue Hub would address that requirement.

What Is Required?

For Enterprises/Venues wanting to implement Venue Hub, the following is recommended to be in place:

  • For the Host Venue:
    • The Venue must be a registered Swiftpos customer.
    • Swiftpos v10.37+ must be installed.
    • In Back Office:
      • The Venue must be Cloud Onboarded. Refer HERE for more information.
      • A Venue Hub must be configured. In Swiftpos a Venue Hub would normally equate to a Swiftpos Location. That is, one that is specifically created to function as the Venue Hub, single access point, for a grouping of Orderaway instances. For example, Level 1 of a Venue would represent one grouping of Vendors, and Level 2 another. In this example, two Venue Hubs (Swiftpos Locations) would be created to represent each of the Levels. Refer HERE for more information.
      • Each Venue Hub (Swiftpos Location) and their grouping of Orderaway instances (Swiftpos Locations) they provide access to, must all exist within the same Swiftpos database.
  • For each Vendor:
    • In Touch:
      • Confirm a Swiftpos Touch Terminal is assigned as the Orders Master and it is up and running and is connected to the Venue's Swiftpos Back Office.
      • The Vendor has been configured. Refer HERE for more information.
  • Ensure the following Swiftpos Services are installed and running:

When Is It Used?

Venue Hub can be an ideal solution for large Venues and Events such as Conventions, Food Markets, Music Festivals, Stadiums, etc.

Venue Hub offers a single point of access from which patrons/staff are able to place Orders with multiple in-Venue Vendors using Orderaway.

Examples

Examples of a Venue Hub could be for a:

Festival

A Venue Hub may be configured for each of the Vendors that are providing hospitality services to patrons attending the Festival, allowing patrons to place Orders with one or more of the Vendors listed in the Venue Hub. For example:

  • Sam's Gourmet German Sausages
  • Apple n Grape Wines & Ciders
  • Beans4Coffee
  • etc

Stadium

Venue Hubs may be configured for the different areas of a Stadium that would then offer the patrons in those areas access to the menus of the Vendors located and grouped in each area. For example:

  • Arena East Side
  • Arena North Side
  • Arena South Side
  • Arena West Side
  • etc

Venues

Venue Hubs may be configured for each of the different floor levels in a Venue, allowing patrons to access the offering of the various Vendors specific to the level they are located in. For example:

  • Venue Level 1
  • Venue Level 2
  • Venue Level 3
  • etc
