  • Select the Show Hidden Icons up arrow in the windows system tray (bottom right corner of the windows screen).

What Is Required?

  • The Interface that requires settings to be configured will need to be registered first.

How To Configure NetPOS?

The configuration of NetPOS will depend entirely on the interface to which swiftpos Touch is required to be interfacing with and will be specific to that interface. However, there are common configuration considerations that can apply to a large number of interfaces. These are as follows:

Field Mapping Tab

Field Mapping is only required if the selected Interface supports mapping. Where required, Field Mapping may need to be configured against the interface's settings tab in NetPOS Settings. One or more of the following settings may need to be configured, depending on the interface being configured. For example:

IMPORTANT

First refer to Linking Back Office To Interfaces to ensure linking has been appropriately configured for the interface. Once this has been configured, then use the Field Mapping tab to configure the mapping of fields between swiftpos and the NetPOS interface.

  • Field - Displays/Lists ONLY those fields that the interface requires mapping for.
  • Add/Update - Select to ensure mapping is applied.

    Notes ...

A Field that is used for Linking should NOT have this option selected. For example, Alternateid.

    • Link To option to return the selected field's value from the interface that has been configured in the Link To setting.
    • This Interface option to return the selected field's value from the swiftpos Back Office instance that is configured against the Back Office Interface setting.Map - Select from the drop down list the:

Linking Back Office To Interfaces

Where required the Linking between Back Office and the NetPOS interface will need to be appropriately configured against the interfaces' settings tab in NetPOS Settings. One or more of the following settings may need to be configured, depending on the interface being configured:

Interface Settings Tab

  • Back Office Interface - Select the Back Office instance to link to, if multiple Back Office instances are available to NetPOS.
  • Link To - Select the interface to link to.
  • Field Mapping - Select how the Back Office and the Link To interfaces will map Members. This is usually Member No <_> Member No option, or alternatively, if the Member No from the interface is required to match the Member's Alternate/Card ID in Back Office, then the Member No <-> Alt ID / Card ID option would need to be selected.

Notes ...

When Linking to Back Office to a 3rd Party Interface, Member Points held against the Member in the Member's Points Account in Back Office, will not be available.

NetPOS Sales Files

The NetPOS Sales Files are required for Points Accruals to be processed. They are also required by several interfaces for sales data to be sent to a 3rd Party application. To ensure these are appropriately configured, do as follows:

  • Ensure the Create Sales File for NetPOS option is selected. This will ensure NetPOS sales files are created.
  • If required a separate Destination Folder for the NetPOS sales files can be specified. Alternatively, leave the Destination Folder blank. This will ensure the folder specified against the Update/Sales File Path setting will be used as the default folder for NetPOS sales files.
  • For accruing Points, ensure the BJL file extension is added to the File Extensions setting. More than one file extension type can be added to the File Extensions setting. For example, sales data to be posted to 3rd Party Gaming applications. In which case the entry for the File Extensions setting may look something like this, BJL, MAX, NFR, RMS, etc.
  • Ensure the Folder setting in the General tab of NetPOS Settings has the correct sales folder configured. Otherwise, points and sales will NOT be accrued and processed as is required.

Points Grid

Where required, Points may need to be configured against the Gaming System's interface settings tab in NetPOS Settings. One or more of the following settings may need to be configured, depending on the Gaming System being configured. For example, for example the MG interfaces:

  • Pts ID - Displays/Enter the IDs of the Points in use by the Gaming system at the Venue.
  • Name - Displays/Enter Name of the Points in use by the Gaming system at the Venue.
  • Accrue - Select to ensure Points are accrued for each Points account in the Gaming system at the Venue.
  • Multiplier - Displays/Enter the Multiplier to be used when the Accrue option above is selected.
  • Can Redeem - Select to ensure Points can be redeemed.
  • Sent to Touch - Select ensure Points will be visible in Touch.
  • Base Points - Select to ensure the Multiplier set above will be applied to all Members, regardless of the Multiplier configured against their Classification. If left unselected, both multipliers will be applied when accruing Points.
  • Location Point Types - Select to display the Location Points Types screen, to configure Location specific Points. If no Location Point Types are configured, the Points will be applied according to the configuration of the Points grid above.

Notes ...

The above is an example only. Points configuration grids may differ slightly depending on the interface being configured.

Tiered Loyalty Tab

Where required, Tiered Loyalty may need to be configured against the interface's settings tab in NetPOS Settings. One or more of the following settings may need to be configured, depending on the Gaming System being configured. For example:

Notes ...

Ensure that in the Field Mapping tab, the setting in the Map column has the This Interface option selected for the ClassificationID entry in the Field column.

  • Tiered Loyalty - Select to enable.
  • Member Classification - Displays/Select from the drop down list the swiftpos Member's Classification for which Tiered Loyalty is to be configured.
  • Loyalty Tier - Displays/Enter the appropriate Tier information appropriate to the Gaming interface being configured.

    Notes ...

The Loyalty Tier value entered MUST MATCH EXACTLY to what is returned from the Gaming System, otherwise it will be ignored. This can be an either an ID or a Name.

Timeouts

Timeouts need to be configured in such a way that the generation of unnecessary Time Out messages are avoided. To do this, do as follows:

  • In NetPOS, set the Timeout value against the interface at a value. For example, 5 seconds for the MG interface.

  • In NetPOS, set the Timeout value in the General menu option to a value that is higher than the one set against the interface above. For example, 8 seconds.

  • In Touch, set the Timeout value in the Customers menu option to a value that is higher than the one set against the General menu option above. For example, 10 seconds.

Notes ...

If the Timeout values are NOT correctly configured, it is possible a transaction will timeout before it is posted successfully via NetPOS. For example, A Live Charge or Loyalty Redemptions transaction.
