- If required, access to this POS Key can be restricted by the Clerk Security feature.
When Is It Used? ▲ ▼
The PIN is required when the fiscal smart card / certificate needs to be authenticated for fiscal processing. Used when the Touch operator is required to enter the Fiscal Smart-card PIN. This may be required:
- When starting fiscal operations.
- When prompted by Swiftpos Touch.
- When the Fiscal Device requires smart card authentication.
- After restarting Swiftpos Touch or the Fiscal Device service, depending on the SoftSDC configuration.

- Review About and ensure the steps outlined HERE are addressed.
- In Keyboard Designer, ensure the Fiscal Device PIN (#650) POS Key is added to a Layout.
- Ensure it is given an appropriate Caption. For example, Fiscal Device PIN.
- Once configured, ensure a Full Update is sent to all the Touch devices that will be using the POS Key. Refer HERE for more information.
