Refund To A Vii Gift Card
This outlines how to Refund to a Vii Gift Card using the Redeem/Check Balance Gift Card (#242) and the Issue 3rd Party Gift Card (#241) POS Keys.
When a customer/patron has made a purchase and they have changed their mind and want the monies refunded, to be placed on a Vii Gift Card.

What Is Required? ▲ ▼
- Ensure the Refund Mode (#1003) POS Key is added to the appropriate Keyboard Layout via the Designer.
- Ensure the Redeem/Check Balance Gift Card (#242) POS Key is added to the appropriate Keyboard Layout via the Designer. Via the More Settings button:
- Ensure it is given an appropriate Caption. For example, Refund To Gift Card.
- Ensure it is has the appropriate Interface selected.
- Ensure the Enter number first option is selected. This can also be NOT selected, which will mean the prompt for the entry of a Gift Card number will done at the end of the Cancel operation.
- Ensure the Preset Amount is set to a value EQUAL TO ZERO. This can also be set to a value GREATER THAN ZERO, which will mean the Amount being refunded is preset and CANNOT be overridden.
How To Refund To A Vii Gift Card? ▲ ▼
Do as follows:
- Select the Refund Mode (#1003) POS Key in Touch
- If prompted select an appropriate reason for the refund.
- Add the items to be refunded to a sale.
- Select the Refund To Gift Card (Redeem/Check Balance Gift Card (#242)) POS Key.
- When the Gift Card - Refund screen is displayed, scan/swipe or enter the Gift Card Number.
- Select the green right arrow.
- Confirm the Amount to be refunded. The total value of the items added to the sale in Refund Mode should be displayed in the Amount field.
- Select the green right arrow.
- The Gift Card - Refund screen is displayed with a Success confirmation message and the Gift Card's new Balance.
- Select OK.
- A Gift Card entry will appear in the sales grid with the Refund Amount displayed as a negative amount.
- The sale will have been finalised.
- Check the Gift Card's Balance.

What Are The Limitations? ▲ ▼
- A Refund to a Vii Gift Card will only be possible when:
- The amount being refunded does not exceed the total value of the items being refunded.
- The amount being refunded is added to the Gift Card's current balance, and does not exceed the Gift Card's initial issued (loaded) amount.
