Pay Using Multiple Media
This outlines How To Pay Using Multiple Media in conjunction with multiple POS Keys in Touch.
Subjects ▼
What Is Required? ▲ ▼
- Ensure the appropriate Finalise POS Keys and, if required the Account Charge (#90) POS Key, are added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.
When Is It Used? ▲ ▼
When payment is required to be made for an Order/Sale, and the full amount to be paid cannot be tendered with one Media, but requires more than one payment in multiple Medias for the Order/Sale to be completed/finalised.
How To Pay Using Multiple Media? ▲ ▼
In Touch, do as follows:
- Add multiple Items/Products to an Order/Sale.
- Once all Items/Products have been added to the Order/Sale, enter the amount to be paid with the 1st Media. The amount entered should be less than the total value of the Order/Sale.
- Select the first POS Key, for example, the Cash (#1) POS Key.
- The amount paid in Cash and the amount still owing should now be displayed in the sales grid.

- If the amount still owing is to now be paid with another partial payment, then:
- Then enter the amount to be paid with the 2nd Media. The amount entered should be less than the total value of the Order/Sale.
- Select the 2nd POS Key, for example, the Account Charge (#90) POS Key. A Customer/Member will need to be added to the Order/Sale in order for the Account Charge to proceed. Refer to How To Add A Customer/Member To A Sale for more information.
Notes...
Repeat the above steps for as many times as there are partial payments to be made.
- If the amount still owing is to be now paid in full, then:
- Select the last Finalise POS Key, for example, the EFTPOS (#2) POS Key.
- The amount paid using an EFTPOS Card (for example, VISA) and a subtotal of $0.00 should now be displayed in the sales grid.
