About ▲ ▼
What Is Required? ▲ ▼
- Clerk/Staff will need to exist in Back Office and be configured with the appropriate authorisation to ensure they are able to login to operate Touch. Clerks/Staff are setup in Back Office with a Clerk ID/Number and PIN. Once a Clerk/Staff Member is logged into a Touch terminal, their order/sale activity is recorded against them and sent to Back Office. The name of the Clerk/Staff Member currently logged in is displayed on the Clerk Menu option in the Toolbar. It can also be selected to switch a login to another Clerk/Staff Member. When required the Clerk/Staff Member will be prompted to enter their PIN on login.
- In support of Touch logins, the following POS Keys may need to be added to the appropriate Keyboard Layout using the Designer:
What To Consider? ▲ ▼
- For the configuration of Clerks, refer HERE.
- For the configuration of logins in relation to Floor Plans, refer HERE.
- For the configuration of logins relating to Cash Drawers, refer HERE.
Notes...
The Fast Clerk (#111) POS Key can be assigned to a specific Cash Drawer, thus enabling Clerk/Staff to Log In/Off using RFID wristbands and have a specific Cash Drawer assigned to them. Refer HERE for more information.
- The name of the Clerk/Staff Member currently logged in is displayed on the Clerk Menu option in the Toolbar. This is not the case when use is made of the No Clerk log in required option.
- In a Multi Location Venue, a Table Tracking Master terminal will need to be assigned in each Location to ensure Clerks/Staff are able to Log In/Out in the different Locations.
- It is recommended that the Admin Clerk (Clerk ID 0) is ONLY USED for administration and configuration activities, and NOT USED for recording orders/sales or Clock In/Out actions.
When Is It Used? ▲ ▼
Touch offers a number of login options to Venues, ensuring they have the opportunity to customise these per Touch terminal, to best suits their requirements. The options offered are Fast Clerks, Manual Logins, No Logins and When Sale Finalises.
How To? ▲ ▼
- Review About and ensure the steps outlined HERE are addressed.
- Log Off When Sale Finalises? - Used to ensure Clerk/Staff are forced to login each time an order/sale is completed.
- Login / Log Off Using Fast Clerks? - Used to ensure Clerks/Staff can login using Fast Clerk keys displayed in Touch. These can be configured in Touch by making use of one of the following Entry Type options available:
- Login / Log Off Using Fast Clerks With RFID Readers? - Used to allow Clerk/Staff Members to use their RFID wristbands and the RFID Reader to Log In/Off at Touch terminals.
- Login Using Manual Login / Log Out? - Used to ensure Clerk/Staff are forced to login manually by selecting either the Clerk Menu option in the Toolbar or the Clerk Login (#101) POS Key.
- Login Using No Login Required? - Used to ensure there is no need for Clerks/Staff to login. Also, the Clerk Menu option will NOT be visible in the Toolbar.
How To Login / Log Off Using Fast Clerks With RFID Readers? ▲ ▼
Another feature of Fast Clerks is to cater for the use of RFID wristbands. This allows for even faster switching between Clerks/Staff in Touch. Clerk/Staff Members use their wristbands and the RFID Reader to Log In/Off at the Touch terminal. The first time they login they will be prompted for their PIN. Also, if another Clerk/Staff Member logs in while an order/sale is in progress, then the order/sale is automatically placed on hold. When the original Clerk/Staff Member logs back in he/she will be presented with the option to recall the held order/sale.
Notes...
The Fast Clerk (#111) POS Key can be assigned to a specific Cash Drawer, thus enabling Clerk/Staff to Log In/Off using RFID wristbands and have a specific Cash Drawer assigned to them. Refer HERE for more information.
