This outlines how to login/log off using the different options available in Touch.
The Clerk button in the Toolbar, the Clerk Login (#101), the Fast Clerks (#111) and the Clerk Log Off (#112) POS Keys and an assigned Tile on the Fast logins screen can be used to enable Clerks/Staff to log In/Off to/from a Touch terminal.

When Is This Used? ▲ ▼
When a Venue wants Clerks/Staff to login to Touch they will need to consider what available Login option best suits their requirements.
To Be Considered ▲ ▼
- Refer to Clerk Settings for more information.
- Refer to Hiding the Clerk Login screen when Displaying Floor Plans if applicable.
- In a Multi Location Venue, a Table Tracking Master terminal will need to be assigned in each Location to ensure Clerks/Staff are able to Log In/Out in the different Locations.
- It is recommended that the Clerk ID 0 (Admin Clerk) is NOT to be used for:
- Anything other than administration/setup activities.
- For recording Orders/Sales or Clock In/Out actions.
What Is Required? ▲ ▼
- Clerk/Staff will need to exist in Back Office and be configured with the appropriate authorisation to ensure they are able to login to operate Touch. Clerks/Staff are setup in Back Office with a Clerk ID/Number and PIN. Once a Clerk/Staff Member is logged into a Touch terminal, their Order/Sale activity is recorded against them and sent to Back Office. The name of the Clerk/Staff Member currently logged in is displayed on the Clerk button in the Toolbar. It can also be selected to switch to another Clerk/Staff Member. When required the Clerk/Staff Member will be prompted to enter their PIN on login.
- To make use of the Clerk Login (#101) POS Key, it will need to be added to the appropriate Keyboard Layout using the Designer. Refer to How To Add A POS Key To A Keyboard Layout for more information.
- To make use of Fast Clerk (#111) POS Keys, they will need to be added to the appropriate Keyboard Layout using the Designer. Refer to How To Add A POS Key To A Keyboard Layout for more information.
- Ensure the appropriate options are configured depending on the Login option selected:
- For No Login Required ensure the No Clerk log in required option is selected in Clerk Settings and that the Default Clerk setting is set. Refer to How To Login Using No Login Required? for more information.
- For Manual Login/Log Out ensure the Manual Log In/Out option is selected in Clerk Settings. Refer to How To Login Using Manual Login/Log Out? for more information.
- For Log Off When Sale Finalises ensure the Log off when sale finalises option is selected in Clerk Settings. Refer to How To Login Using Log Off When Sale Finalises? for more information.
- For Fast Clerks ensure the Fast Clerks option is selected in Clerk Settings and that it is configured to achieve the desired outcome. Refer to How To Login Using Fast Clerks? for more information.
Logging In ▲ ▼
A Clerk/Staff Member can login to a Touch terminal in any one of the following ways:
- Standard Login - Only displayed when either the Manual Log In/Out or Log off when sale finalises option is selected, or when the
- Fast Login - Only displayed when the Fast Clerks option is selected
- Clerk Login (#101) POS Key - Select to display the Standard Login screen. This POS Key will need to be added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.
- Clerk button - This button will NOT be visible if the No Clerk log in required option has been selected.

With The Manual Log In/Out or Logoff when sale finalises option selected: ▲ ▼- Enter the Clerk's/Staff Member's ID
- Select the Next icon (right pointing arrow button)
- If prompted (when either the Prompt for Pin (Manual Login) or Prompt for Pin (All Logins) option is selected), enter the Clerk's/Staff Member's PIN.
- Select the Next icon (right pointing arrow button)

With Fast Clerks option selected and the Use Fast Clerk Layout option selected: ▲ ▼
- Select one of the unassigned tiles to open the Clerk Login screen.
- Enter the Clerk's/Staff Member's ID
- Select the Next icon (right pointing arrow button)
- If prompted (when the Prompt on Initial Login option is selected), enter the Clerk's/Staff Member's PIN.
- Select the Next icon (right pointing arrow button)
- The Clerk's/Staff Member's name will appear in the tile.

How To Login Using No Login Required? ▲ ▼
Once the What Is Required? above has been completed, then when the No Clerk log in required option is selected in Clerk Settings, there will be NO need for Clerks/Staff to login in Touch. Also, the Clerk button will NOT be visible in the Tool bar.
How To Login Using Manual Login / Log Out? ▲ ▼
Once the What Is Required? above has been completed, then when the Manual Log In/Out option is selected in Clerk Settings, Clerk/Staff will have to select the Clerk button in the Tool bar or the Clerk Login (#101) POS Key, each time they wish to login.

The name of the Clerk/Staff Member currently logged in is displayed on the Clerk button in the Toolbar.
How To Login Using Log Off When Sale Finalises? ▲ ▼
Once the What Is Required? above has been completed, then when the Log off when sale finalises option is selected in Clerk Settings, Clerk/Staff will be forced to login each time an Order/Sale is completed.

The name of the Clerk/Staff Member currently logged in is displayed on the Clerk button in the Toolbar.
How To Login Using Fast Clerks? ▲ ▼
Once the What Is Required? above has been completed, then when the Fast Clerks mode is selected in Clerk Settings. Venue's then have a choice of two configurations when it comes to logging into Fast Clerks. These are either:
Once a Clerk/Staff Member has successfully logged in they maybe prompted to select a Cash Drawer. Refer to How To Prompt For Cash Drawer Assignment for more information.

Used to invoke the Fast Clerk Layout screen above each time an Order/Sale is completed.
Setup ▲ ▼- Ensure the Fast Clerk Layout option is selected against the Entry Type setting in Clerk Settings.

Once the Setup above has been completed, then In Touch to:
- Login - Select one of the unassigned tiles on the Fast Clerk Layout screen to open the Clerk Login screen and Login. The Clerk/Staff Member's name will appear on the button and will remain there until the Clerk/Staff Member logs off.
- Switch Clerks - To switch from one Clerk/Staff Member to another during POS operations, select the Clock In button. The Fast Clerk Layout screen will be displayed. Select one of the Clerk/Staff Member assigned Fast Clerk POS Keys. The POS home Keyboard Layout will be displayed. The subsequent Order/Sale will be recorded against the last Clerk/Staff Member selected. Once the Order/Sale is finalised the Fast Clerk Layout screen will be displayed again ready for the next Order/Sale.
- Log Off - Select the LOG OFF button and then select one of the Clerk/Staff Member POS Keys assigned in the grid. An Authorisation popup will be displayed ensuring that only authorised personnel are able to logoff Clerk/Staff Members. The security is configured here. The selected POS Key will appear as unassigned once the Logoff has succeeded.
Notes...
The Floor Plan will not be displayed if using Fast logins. To ensure the Floor Plan is displayed when Fast Clerks is selected, then ensure the Show Floor Plan Layouts after xx seconds settings is set to 1 second or higher.
If the Cash Off By Cash Drawer option is also selected with Fast Clerks, then in order to Log Off from Fast Clerks mode unselect the Cash Off By Cash Drawer option before you can exit Fast Clerks mode.
- Once a Clerk/Staff Member has successfully logged in they maybe prompted to select a Cash Drawer. Refer to How To Prompt For Cash Drawer Assignment for more information.

Keyboard ▲ ▼

Used to make use of Fast Clerk (#111) POS Keys added to a Keyboard Layout.
Setup ▲ ▼- Ensure the Fast Clerk Keyboard option is selected against the Entry Type setting in Clerk Settings.
Notes...
If NO Fast Clerk (#111) POS Keys are found on the HOME Layout in Touch when this option is selected, then a prompt will be displayed and this option will NOT be able to be selected. Refer HERE for more information.
- Ensure a Fast Clerk (#111) POS Key, for each Clerk/Staff Member, is added to the appropriate HOME Layout using the Designer. Refer to How To Add A POS Key To A Keyboard Layout for more information.
Notes...
The Fast Clerk (#111) POS Key is only activated when the Fast Clerk mode is selected.
The number of Fast Clerk (#111) POS Keys added will limit the number of Clerks/Staff able to login to Touch at any one time.
- Ensure the Clerk Log Off (#112) POS Key is added to the appropriate Keyboard Layout using the Designer. Refer to How To Add A POS Key To A Keyboard Layout for more information.

Once the Setup above has been completed, then in Touch to:
- Login - Select one of the unassigned Fast Clerk POS Keys to open the Clerk Login screen and Login. The Clerk/Staff Member's name will appear on the POS Key and will remain there until the Clerk/Staff Member logs off.
- Switch Clerks - To switch from one Clerk/Staff Member to another during POS operations, select one of the Clerk/Staff Member assigned Fast Clerk POS Keys. The Clerk/Staff Member's name will appear on the Clerk button in the Toolbar. The subsequent Order/Sale will be recorded against the last Clerk/Staff Member selected. Once the Order/Sale is finalised, then before the next Order/Sale, ensure a Clerk/Staff Member assigned Fast Clerk POS Key is selected, otherwise the following message will be displayed:
- Log Off - Select the Clerk Log Off (#112) POS Key and then select a Clerk/Staff Member assigned Fast Clerk (#111) POS Key associated with the Clerk/Staff Member to be logged off. The selected POS Key will appear as unassigned.
- Once a Clerk/Staff Member has successfully logged in they maybe prompted to select a Cash Drawer. Refer to How To Prompt For Cash Drawer Assignment for more information.

Rfid Readers ▲ ▼
Another feature of Fast Clerks is to cater for the use of RFID wristbands. This allows for even faster switching between Clerks/Staff at a Touch terminal. Clerk/Staff Members use their wristbands and the RFID Reader to Log In/Off at the Touch terminal. The first time they login they will be prompted for their PIN. Also, if another Clerk/Staff Member logs in while an Order/Sale is in progress, then the Order/Sale is automatically placed on hold. When the original Clerk/Staff Member logs back in he/she will be presented with the option to recall the held Order/Sale .

The Fast Clerk (#111) POS Key can be assigned to a specific Cash Drawer, thus enabling Clerks/Staff to Log In/Off using RFID wristbands and have a specific Cash Drawer assigned to them. Refer to Settings for more information.
Logging Off ▲ ▼
A Clerk/Staff Member can log off from Touch by selecting either the:
Log Off Icon ▲ ▼
- Select the Log Off icon in the Login screen.
- Select the tile of the Clerk/Staff Member to be logged off.
- Enter the ID of the Clerk/Staff Member authorised to Log Off Clerks/Staff.
- Enter the PIN of the Clerk/Staff Member authorised to Log Off Clerks.
- The selected Clerk/Staff Member is logged off.

Clerk Log Off (#112) POS Key ▲ ▼
- Select the Clerk Log Off (#112) POS Key
- Then select the Fast Clerks (#111) POS Key of the Clerk/Staff Member to be logged off.
- The selected Clerk/Staff Member is logged off.
