Sale Type (#960) POS Key

This provides an overview of the Sale Type (#960) POS Key.

What Is It Used For?      

The Sale Type POS Key is used to ensure a sale transaction at a POS attracts a specific Tax that is associated with the selected Sale Type.

Originally designed to cater for the different VAT Tax rates that can apply when dining in at a restaurant/hospitality venue, as opposed to takeaways. Refer to Sales Types for more information. Taxes are associated with specific Sales Types by configuring the Sale Type option HERE.

To Be Considered      

  • If required, access to this POS Key can be restricted by the Clerk Security feature.


What Is Required?      


Settings      


This screen is accessed by selecting the More Settings button in Keyboard Designer.

  • Sale Type - Select to from the drop down list a Sale Type that will be associated with this POS Key. Refer to Sale Types for more information.
  • First Layout - If required (optional) select from the drop down list of available Keyboard Layouts a Layout that contains the Products/Items that are mostly sold at the Tax rate associated with the selected Sale Type above. For example, in the case of the UK, this could be a Layout that contains all Take Away options that would attract the VAT Zero Tax rate. If no specific Layout can be identified or is available, select the None option.
