Delivery Service Options

This outlines How To Configure Delivery Service Options in OrderAway.

    When Is It Used?      

    Venues can make use of the Delivery feature, when they want to ensure that patrons are given the option to have their Orders/Sales delivered to an address or some other location (for example, a room, a service area, etc).


    Benefits      

    The benefits to Venues using this feature are:

    • Delivery to address/locations can be restricted to a limited geographical area.
    • Venues in Australia and/or New Zealand can register with AddressFinder to facilitate the quick and easy entry of deliver to addresses.
    • For patrons that are also, already registered swiftpos Members to a Venue, their address details will be automatically retrieved and presented as the address to deliver to. Member patrons will have the opportunity to change the address presented.
    • Patrons can be presented with the option of entering alternate addresses/locations in the form of Free Text.


    How To Configure Delivery Service Options?      

    Do as follows:


    Delivery To An Address      

    To offer patrons the delivery of their Orders/Sales to a valid address, that is either retrieved from a Member's details or entered in by a patron during the checkout process in OrderAway, Venues will need to:

    • Ensure the Delivery option is selected in the Service tab.
    • Ensure the Address option is selected in the Location Type drop down list.
    • Decide whether they want to restrict Deliveries to a limited geographical area that is either defined by one of the following options available:
      • None - Ensures no restrictions are applied to Deliveries.
      • Postcodes - Allows a list of Postcodes to be selected that will ensure that when addresses are specified during the checkout process, these will be validated against the list of Postcodes:
        • If FOUND in the Postcode list, patrons will receive the following notification and will be able to proceed with the checkout process.

        • If NOT FOUND in the Postcode list, patrons will receive the following notification and will not be able to proceed with the checkout until such time they have either entered a valid address or selected the Pickup option (if it is configured).

      • Radius - Allows a Venue to enter the address detail from where Orders/Sales will be distributed for delivery, and then specify a Radius in metres that would extend outward from the address entered. All addresses are entered during the checkout process, will be validated against the area covered by the Radius.
        • If FOUND within the Radius, patrons will receive the following notification and will be able to proceed with the checkout process.

        • If NOT FOUND in the Radius, patrons will receive the following notification and will not be able to proceed with the checkout until such time they have either entered a valid address or selected the Pickup option (if it is configured).



    Delivery To A Custom Address / Location      

    To offer patrons the delivery of their Orders/Sales to a custom entered address or location, Venues will need to:



    How Is It Used?      

    In OrderAway, do as follows:

    • Place an Order/Sale and then proceed to checkout.
    • Select the Delivery option.
    • Depending on the option configured above, enter:
      • A valid address
      • A custom address/location. This could be an address, a room, a service area, etc
    • Proceed to complete the checkout process.
