To perform a stocktake independent of month end, use the following example as a guide:
- During the month of MAY:
- Lock the Location for which the stocktake is to be undertaken, before starting of trading. Refer HERE for more information.
- Count the stock in the Location before the start of trading.
- Enter stocktakes counts for the Location when time permits. Refer HERE for more information.
- Print out Variance reports and preview the Period Location Summary (INV018) report to ensure figures are correct.
- Unlock the Location when satisfied with the results of the stocktake. Refer HERE for more information.
- Print out the Period Location Summary (INV018) report for the period APRIL.
- Still during the month, repeat the above process for each of the other Locations.
Notes ...
If some Locations make use of the Draw From option, then each Location can be counted at different times as the Locked Location feature will manage stock levels. For example, 2 bars that draw from a cellar, then each bar and the cellar can be counted at different times.
- On the 1st JUNE at 6:00 AM:
- Select the Record Period Opening Stock option to record the Period Opening Stock (refer HERE for more information) and move into the next trading period JUNE.
- Print out the Period Location Summary (INV018) report for the previous period MAY.
