This outlines how to Assign/Map XERO Tracking Categories in Swiftpos for the XERO Advanced GL interface.

When Is It Required?      

When:

  • Venues are implementing the Swiftpos XERO Advanced GL Interface in Back Office for the first time, to interface with their XERO application.
  • Venues are already using the Swiftpos XERO Advanced GL Interface in Back Office and have imported an up to date version of XERO's Tracking Categories. Refer to How To Import The Chart Of Tracking Categories Into Swiftpos for more information.

 

What Is Required?     

  • The Venue for which the Tracking Categories is to be imported, must be listed in the Venue Settings tab and must be connected to XERO. Refer HERE for more information.
  • For sites that are making use of the Swiftpos XERO Advanced feature for the first time, and wanting to make use of XERO's Tracking Categories, then ensure Tracking Categories have been configured in XERO*. Refer HERE for more information.
  • Import the Tracking Categories for each of the Venues listed in the Venue Settings tab. Refer HERE for more information.

 

TIP

* It may be necessary to enlist the assistance/expertise of an accountant to ensure that in XERO, all Tracking Categories are correct and appropriately configured for the Venue. Also, that all Tracking Category assignments/mappings done in the Account Assignment/Mapping tabs are correct.

 

How To Assign / Map XERO Tracking Categories?     

In the Advanced Settings screen, do as follows:

  • For each of the Account Assignment/Mapping tabs, do as follows:
    • Use the Tracking Category drop down lists associated with each row listed in the grid and select the appropriate XERO Tracking Category.
    • Select Save to save the changes.
