What Is It?

Blackhawk is, amongst other services, a provider of:

  • Branded Gift Cards in both a physical and digital format.
  • Digital Accounts (also known as POR (PIN On Request) Products, allowing customers to top up accounts, subscriptions, phone plans, etc.

Why Is It Needed?

The Blackhawk Interface is needed when a Venue intends to offer Blackhawk branded Gift Cards (For example, Amazon, BCF, Ebay, JB HI-FI, Westfield, etc.) for sale or to provide Digital Account services (For example, Accounts, Phone Plans, Subscriptions, etc) that are supported by Blackhawk.

Available In?

SwiftPOS V10.53+

To Be Considered?

  • Blackhawk recommends that when POS Keys are configured for Refunds/Reversals/Voiding, these should ONLY be accessible by management staff. That is they appear to dissuade general POS Clerks/Staff Members to have access to Refunds/Reversals/Voiding functions that interface with Blackhawk.

Notes...

A POS Key is configured for Refunds/Reversals/Voiding when the Prompt for Original Reference ID option is selected here and/or here.

When Should It Be Used?

Any swiftpos Venue that wants to integrate with Blackhawk and offer their Gift Card services.

How Is It Used?

Blackhawk Gift Cards can be implemented in a Venue by following the steps outlined in the GETTING STARTED topic.

Once implemented and configured Blackhawk Gift Cards can be used in a Venue.

What Are The Limitations?

The Blackhawk Gift Cards Interface has the following limitations:

  • The swiftpos Blackhawk Interface does NOT support the following:
    • The ability to check the balance of Blackhawk provided Gift Cards.
    • Redemption of Blackhawk provided Gift Cards.
