About ▲ ▼
What Is Required? ▲ ▼
- Swiftpos v10+
- Ensure this POS Key is added to the appropriate Keyboard Layout using the Designer. Refer HERE for more information.
What To Consider? ▲ ▼
- If required, access to this POS Key can be restricted by the Clerk Security feature.
When Is It Used? ▲ ▼
Used to issue a Call Away in Touch. For example, front of house staff may issue a Call Away for the desserts ordered for a specific Table, once the mains have been served. This will ensure kitchen staff can commence the preparation of the mains for the Table in question, ensuring they will be served in a timely manner.
How To? ▲ ▼
How To GET STARTED? ▲ ▼
Do as follows:
- Review About and ensure the steps outlined HERE are addressed.
- In Keyboard Designer, select the Call Away (#41) POS Key that has been added to a Layout.
- Ensure it is given an appropriate Caption. For example, Call Away or Call Away Entrees, Call Away Mains, etc.
- Select the More Settings option to display the Settings screen.
- Configure the POS Key by selecting the options available HERE.
- Once configured, ensure a Full Update is sent to all the Touch terminals that will be using the POS Key. Refer HERE for more information.
Screens ▲ ▼
Settings ▲ ▼

To access, select the More Settings option in Keyboard Designer. Used to configure the settings for the Call Away (#41) POS Key.
- Print Group - Select from the drop-down list one of the options available.
TIP
RECOMMENDED - Select the SELECTED at TOUCH option to ensure Print Groups can be selected in Touch and hence only one Call Away POS Key will need to be added to the Touch Keyboard Layout. When Touch operators select it, they will be presented with a prompt, requiring them to select from the list of Print Groups available, the one they want to issue a Call Away for. Refer HERE for more information.
ALTERNATIVELY - Select one of the Print Groups listed, below the SELECTED at TOUCH option, to ensure the Call Away POS Key will only issue a Call Away for that Print Group. This will mean that multiple Call Away POS Keys would more than likely need to be added to the Touch Keyboard Layout for each of the Print Groups to ensure that Call Aways can be issued for each of them.
- Don't Print Call Away Items - Select to ensure the items are not printed on the docket when a Call Away is issued. Refer HERE for more information.
