Issue Voucher (#85) POS Key


This provides an overview of the Issue Voucher (#85) POS Key in Touch.

What Is It Used For?      

This POS Key is used to issue Vouchers in Touch. For example, issue a Free Meal Voucher to a patron to compensate for poor customer service.


To Be Considered      

  • Vouchers are issued at no cost to the Customer/Member and DO NOT have to comply with the Voucher Issue triggers.
  • Issuing of Vouchers is NOT permitted while taking Phone/Web Orders.
  • If required, access to this POS Key can be restricted by the Clerk Security feature.


What Is Required?      


Settings      


Accessed from here and used to configure the Issue Voucher (#85) POS Key for Touch.

  • Enforce Reason Code - Select to enforce the Clerk/Staff Member to select/enter a Reason for issuing a Voucher.
  • Don't Prompt For Mapping - Select to ensure prompting for Voucher Mapping is NOT displayed. Prompting will be displayed by default.
    • Voucher - Select from the drop down list of available Vouchers a Voucher to be assigned to this POS Key. This feature can be used to ensure that Clerks/Staff do not issue the wrong Voucher. The selected Voucher is assigned to the POS Key. If the Any option is selected the Clerk/Staff Member will be presented with a list of available Vouchers to choose from.


    How Is It Used?      

    To charge/redeem using a Gift Card's/Stored Value Voucher 's value and pay towards an Order/Sale in Touch, do as follows:

    • At the swiftpos Touch terminal select the Issue Voucher (#85) POS Key.
    • If Any is selected in the Voucher option in the Settings, then the Clerk/Staff Member will be presented with the search Voucher screen to select the Voucher to be issued.
    • If the Don't Prompt For Mapping option is NOT selected in the Settings, then a prompt to enter text to map to the issued Voucher, is displayed. The Clerk/Staff Member can then enter a mapping text. This text can then be entered to retrieve the Voucher in Touch at a later date using the Voucher Entry (#87) POS Key, instead of entering the Voucher number. Entering mapping text is optional. Enter text and/or select Done.
    • The Voucher is issued.
    • Finalise the Order/Sale.
