Send Specific Items To KVS

KVS - How To

This outlines the How To Send Specific Items To KVS.

When Is It Used?

When there is a need to send items to a KVS when the item is not of the ordinary. For example, burgers ordered with a chicken schnitzel, replacing the beef patty in the beef burger, need to be sent to the KVS. The ordinary beef burgers do not need to be sent to the KVS.

  • Create a product and assign it to the Send to KVS Category created above. For example, the Chicken Burger Schnitzel.
  • Ensure the ordinary Beef Burger product is assigned to a Category that is not triggered to send to the KVS.
  • Ensure the Chicken Burger Schnitzel is added as a Product POS Key to a Layout of the appropriate Touch Keyboard.
    • Also, ensure that the Forced Instruction option is selected in More Settings.
  • Once configured, ensure a Full Update is sent to all the Touch terminals that will be using the POS Key. Refer HERE for more information.

In the KVS Settings:

  • Ensure the Send to KVS Category is listed in the Shown section.

In Touch:

  • Sell the Beef Burger. The item is NOT SENT to KVS and therefore is not displayed.
  • Sell the Chicken Burger Schnitzel. The item is SENT to KVS and displayed.
  • Sell the Beef Burger and the Chicken Burger Schnitzel. Both items are sent to the KVS and displayed. This is because the Chicken Burger Schnitzel triggers the send to KVS.
