Import Keyboard Layouts
Back Office - How To
This outlines the How To Import Keyboard Layouts.

What Is Required? ▲ ▼
- A Keyboard must already exist.
- An XML file must already exist that contains the Layouts to be imported. Refer HERE for more information.
When Is It Used? ▲ ▼
Used to import all Layouts from another Keyboard.

How To Import Keyboard Layouts? ▲ ▼
In Back Office, do as follows:
-
Select the Keyboards option in the Touch Settings menu, to open the Keyboards screen.
- Select the Keyboards menu in the Toolbar.
- Select the Open Keyboard option in the footer section, to open the Touch Keyboards screen.
- Select the Keyboard into which the Layouts are to be imported.
- Take note of the Layout count displayed in the Layout section.
- Once the Keyboard is displayed, before proceeding take note (as a point of reference) of the Layout Tree View of the Keyboard currently open. Refer HERE for more information.
- Select the Import Existing Keyboard Layouts from File option from the Layout menu to open file explorer to locate and select the XML file to be imported.
Notes ...
The XML file would have been generated by exporting the Keyboard that contains the Layouts to be imported. Refer HERE for more information.
- Once the XML file is selected, the Touch Keyboards screen displayed, listing the Keyboard from which the Layouts will be imported.
- Select the Keyboard listed to import the Keyboard's Layouts into the currently open Keyboard.
- Once the import is complete, a prompt similar to the one below will be displayed:

Notes ...
If the Layouts being imported already exist, a prompt similar to the one below will be displayed:

- Select OK to continue.
- Confirm the Layout count displayed in the Layout section has increased.
- Review the Layout Tree View of the Keyboard currently open to see the Layouts that have been imported. Refer HERE for more information.
- Consider adding one or more Layout POS Keys to the original Layouts to link to the newly imported Layouts and ensure Touch operators can navigate to the imported Layouts. Refer HERE for more information.
- Save the changes.
- Send a Full Update to the Touch terminals requiring the new Keyboard.
- Once the update has been applied to the relevant Touch terminals, the imported Layouts will be available to Touch operators.
