About

What Is Required?

  • Before embarking on this process, ensure a backup is made of the Swiftpos database. Refer HERE for more information.
  • Identify the Barcodes that require fixing. Refer HERE for more information.

What To Consider?

Retail Barcodes normally have a check sum number built into the last character of the Barcode. This does not apply to other Barcodes that are used to represent a Member or a Voucher. Sometimes, Venues have imported Barcode files that are padded with leading zeros of up to 14 characters. Since these are not considered valid Barcodes, they will not scan successfully in Touch.

When Is It Used?

Used when invalid/unknown Barcodes have been identified by running the Report On Invalid/Unknown Manufacturer Barcodes and an attempt is undertaken to ensure these are corrected as part of a housekeeping activity in Swiftpos.
