Touch - What To Consider
This provides an overview of Discounts in Touch.

What Is It? ▲ ▼
Discounts are an existing feature in Swiftpos, and are configured in Back Office HERE, and applied in Touch if enabled. They are also applied in Orderaway and Touchmini if they are Web Enabled.
What Is Required? ▲ ▼
- If any pre-defined Discounts are required, they will need to be configured in Back Office. Refer HERE for more information.
- Once configured in Back Office and in order for it to be available in Touch, they will also need to be associated to a Discount (#6) POS Key that will need to be added to a Keyboard Layout. Refer HERE for more information.
What To Consider? ▲ ▼
- In Touch:
- If the Discount POS Key is selected after an Item/Product is added to an Order/Sale and it is NOT a Sale Discount, then the discount is based on the value of the last Item/Product added.
- If the Discount POS Key is selected after a Subtotal POS Key is selected and it is NOT a Sale Discount, then the discount is based on the value of the subtotal.
- In general Discounts are applied as follows for:
- Item Discounts
A Discount applied to an Item/Product in an Order/Sale will:- FAIL if an Auto Apply Discount has already been applied.
- FAIL if an Item Discount has already been applied.
- FAIL if a Mix And Match has already been applied.
- FAIL if a Sale Discount has already been applied.
- SUCCEED if all of the above are NOT applied.
- Sale Discounts
A Discount applied to an Order/Sale will:- FAIL if an Auto Apply Discount has already been applied to ALL Items/Products in the Order/Sale.
- SUCCEED if an Auto Apply Discount has already been applied to SOME Items/Products in the Order/Sale, then the Discount will then be applied to those Items/Products that have NOT been discounted.
- FAIL if an Item Discount has already been applied to ALL Items/Products in the Order/Sale.
- SUCCEED if an Item Discount has already been applied to SOME Items/Products n the Order/Sale, then the Discount will then be applied to those Items/Products that have NOT been discounted.
- FAIL if a Mix And Match has already been applied to ALL Items/Products in the Order/Sale.
- SUCCEED if a Mix And Match has already been applied to SOME Items/Products in the Order/Sale, then the Discount will then be applied to those Items/Products that have NOT been discounted.
- FAIL if a Sale Discount has already been applied.
- SUCCEED if NO Discounts have already been applied.

When Is It Used? ▲ ▼
Used when a Venue wants to offer it's patrons discounts for Items/Products ordered/purchased in Orderaway, Touch and Touchmini.
