What Is New?

In:

  • Swiftpos v10.77+
    • Previously the Single Transaction Sales Mode option was opt-in but recommended as the sales mode of choice. Going forward this option will be enabled by default for any new Table Tracking database created. Also, it will be considered best practice for existing Table Tracking databases. As such, when an attempt is made to disable this option, the following prompt will now be displayed:

    • The benefits are:
      • To ensure accurate balancing and auditing, TAB sales are recorded as a single sale on the Touch terminal.

      • Clerks/Staff finishing mid-shift can balance their Z-report and take part payments against a TAB/Table.

      • When the final payment for a TAB/Table is taken, the entire sale is tied to that Touch terminal, so sales and payments match on the Z-report.

      • Once the final payment is sent to Back Office:

        • Stock decrements from the Location where Items/Products were sold. This is important for Stocktaking.

      • Clerk/Staff reporting is more accurate as these are now based on Order times and not the time the final payment was made.

      • Ensures simple balancing and reporting across all Touch terminals and time periods.

    • The limitations are:
      •  Partial payments against a TAB/Table will be shown as being transacted from Cash Drawer 0 (zero) when transacted on a different Cash Drawer or Touch terminal. This may cause some discrepancies if the Venue has the Cash Off by Drawer option enabled.

IMPORTANT

Venues currently using the Single Transaction Sales Mode option do not need to do anything. However, they will need to be aware of the impact of the change outlined above.
