Swiftpos - Features
This provides a quick summary and overview of the Promotions feature.
Subjects ▲ ▼
What Is It? ▲ ▼
Promotions in Swiftpos (also referred to as Specials) allow Venues to set time-based sale prices for specific Products. These promotional prices override the standard Product pricing during a defined date and time range, enabling automatic discounts without staff intervention. Promotions are configured in Back Office HERE and are synced to POS terminals via the Swiftpos Services. Promotions are ideal for managing short-term campaigns such as seasonal sales, Happy Hours, or loyalty bonus events. When multiple promotions overlap, Swiftpos automatically applies the one with the most recent Start Date.
Example Scenarios ▲ ▼
- Fixed Price Promotion – Sell selected beers for $5 during a weekend event.
- Seasonal Sale – Apply 15% off selected items during a holiday period.
- Location-Specific Promo – Run a special only in one bar or outlet.
- Bonus Points Promo – Offer double loyalty points on selected wines.
- Manufacturer Rebate – Track rebate-backed discounts from suppliers.
- Overlap Example – If two promos overlap, the one with the latest Start Date
applies.
