Vouchers
Swiftpos - Features
This provides a quick summary and overview of the Vouchers feature.
Subjects ▲ ▼
What Is It? ▲ ▼
Vouchers in Swiftpos are configurable tokens that can be issued, redeemed, and tracked within the POS system. They can be used as gift cards, loyalty rewards, promotional coupons, or special offers (e.g. “Free Drink” or “$10 Off”). Each Voucher can have specific issue and redemption rules, validity dates, and actions. Vouchers are created and managed in Back Office HERE, where their parameters, actions, and layouts are configured.
Example Scenarios ▲ ▼
- Gift Card Voucher – A $50 stored-value Voucher that can be redeemed
across multiple visits. - Birthday Voucher – Automatically issued to members on their birthday for a
free drink or dessert. - Free Product Voucher – Scanning the Voucher provides a free item (e.g.
coffee or snack). - Loyalty Reward Voucher – Triggered when a member reaches a set number
of points. - Thank You Voucher – Issued to volunteers or staff as a recognition reward.
- Multi-Voucher Trigger – Multiple Vouchers issued in one sale (e.g. standard
and bonus offers).

Issue Triggers | Define when Vouchers are issued – e.g. manually, after specific purchases, birthdays, campaigns, or at random odds. |
Redemption Rules |
Control when and how Vouchers can be redeemed – e.g. once only, multiple times, by Product Family, or during specific dates/times. |
Voucher Actions | Set actions for when a Voucher is redeemed – e.g. apply discount, issue free Product, add loyalty points, or change price level. |
Voucher Layouts | Customise printed Voucher templates with barcodes, logos, and text for patron presentation. |
Stored Value Support |
Create gift card-style Vouchers with dollar value that can be redeemed across multiple transactions. |
Voucher Ledger | Track all issued and redeemed Vouchers through Back Office reports for full accountability. |
Limitations | Vouchers cannot be used on fractional Products or transferred between databases. |
Offline Handling | Vouchers can still be issued if the network is offline and will sync once connected. |
Conflict Prevention |
Vouchers cannot be redeemed against the same Product that issued them. |
Priority Handling | Promotions and Discounts are applied before Vouchers during the sales process. |
Application Order | Discounts apply after Promotions/Happy Hours but before Member Campaigns and Mix & Match. |
Summary ▲ ▼
Swiftpos Vouchers provide a flexible and powerful system for running promotions, managing gift cards, and rewarding patrons. With full control over issuance, redemption, and tracking, Venues can use Vouchers to build loyalty, drive sales, and maintain complete visibility across all issued and redeemed Vouchers through detailed Back Office reporting.
