The Event Areas menu option is used to configure Areas that can then be associated with a Location.
An Area generally refers to a physical area that is a designated service area, That is, it is an area that can easily be identified, when providing deliveries, services, ordering, etc. It can also be linked to a patron’s Account. Areas are allocated to a specific Location within a Venue and can also be assigned to specific Sessions. For example, A specific Corporate Box, Function Room, Seating Area, Suite, etc.

What Is Required? ▲ ▼
- Venues will need to be registered for the Events module for access to this feature.
- Ensure at least one staff member has the appropriate Back Office Security Group access to the following Clerk Group Permissions:
- Events > Event Areas
- One or more Area Types will need to have been created in order to be able to create an Event Area. Refer to How To Create An Area Type for more information.

This screen is accessed from the Back Office > Events > Event Areas menu option.

Filters ▲ ▼The filters at the top of this section can be used to limit the number of rows displayed in the grid. The filters include the following types:
- Drop Down Lists - The filter fields of this type are: Location.
- Full/Partial Numbers - The filter fields of this type are: ID.
- Full/Partial Texts - The filters of this type are: Area. Enter a full or partial text, to search the available Areas and return only those that contain an occurrence of the text entered.

The grid displays a list of the Areas currently available, along with their ID, Location, Account, Terminals, Status, Type and Capacity.
Noteworthy ▲ ▼- Terminals - Select to select one or more Terminals from the drop down list to ensure the selected Terminals are locked to the Area.
Notes...
A Terminal can also be locked to more than on Area. That is a single Touch terminal or TouchMini device can service multiple Areas.

- New Area - Select to add an Area.
- Delete Area - Select to remove the selected Area.
- Save/Undo - Select to save/undo the changes made.
- Area Types - Select to open the Area Types screen to create/manage Area Types.
