Retail barcodes normally have a check sum number built into the last character of the barcode. This does not apply to other barcodes that are used to represent a Member or a Voucher. Sometimes, Venues have imported barcode files that are padded with leading zeros of up to 14 characters. Since these are not considered valid barcodes, they will not scan successfully in Touch.

Used to report on any barcodes that are invalid/unknown or non-manufacturer barcodes and then provide a correct alternative in the form of the reported Manufacturer Barcode. It is designed to support housekeeping activities in Swiftpos.

How To Report On Invalid/Unknown Barcodes? ▲ ▼
In Back Office, do as follows:
- Navigate to and select the Report On Invalid/Unknown Manufacturer Barcodes option in the SQL Tools menu.
- This will ensure the Non-Manufacturer Barcode Report is generated. For example:
- It lists every item/product encountered in Swiftpos that has an invalid/unknown, or non-manufacturer barcode. Along with each item/product reported, it lists their Product Code, PLU, Description, Current Barcode and Manufacturer Barcode. The Manufacturer Barcode reported can then be used to manually correct the reported item's/products' current barcode and replace it with the reported Manufacturer Barcode.
