What Is It? ▲ ▼
A POS Key in Touch refers is a button/option that can be selected/touched on a Swiftpos Touch screen by Clerks/Staff to perform a specific point of sale function.

- If required, access to this POS Key can be restricted by selecting the Clerk Security feature.
When Is It Used? ▲ ▼
POS Keys are used to perform Swiftpos point of sale functions. For example:
- Selecting an Item/Product to add to a sale.
- Cancelling a sale.
- Finalising a sale.
- Navigating to a different Layout in Touch.
- etc.

Add A POS Key To A Keyboard Layout? ▲ ▼
In the Keyboards screen in Back Office, do as follows:
- Select the Open Keyboard option to select a Keyboard from the Touch Keyboards screen, to which the POS Key is to be added to.
- Using the Left/Right arrows or the Layout drop-down list navigate to and select the Layout to which the POS Key is to be added to.
- Once the Layout is displayed, select a cell (empty or containing an existing POS Key) in the Layout. This will ensure it is active.
- Once selected a POS Key can be added to the Layout in one of the following ways:
- Using Quick Buttons (to the left of the Layout):
- Select either the Products, Functions, Finalisers or Keypad Layouts Quick Button to expand it and select the required POS Key from the drop-down list.
- Once selected, drag it to the now active cell.
- The POS Key will now be added to the cell and replace any previous POS Key assigned to that cell.
- Using Button Properties (to the right of the Layout).
- Select the type of POS Key to be added from the Link Type drop-down list.
- Once selected, select the search option to the right of the Link Item field, to open either the Finalise Keys, Function Keys, Products, Special Keys or Touch Layouts screens to locate and select the POS Key to be added.
- Once selected, the POS Key will be added to the cell and replace any previous POS Key assigned to that cell.
- Using Quick Buttons (to the left of the Layout):
- Once the new POS Key has been added, it can now be configured as required. Refer HERE for more information.
- Save the changes.
- Ensure a Full Update is sent to all Touch terminals that require the update.
